A little about me

I’m Laura Rutterford. I am here to help you in any way I can.

I am a Physiotherapist and teach Pilates, but most importantly, I, like most of you, have Hip Dysplasia. I was Diagnosed at 18 months, had a peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO) at 10, and currently fighting to stay strong and functional.

I wanted to be a physio from the age of 10, after the PAO (and lots of initial physiotherapy). I associated these people with being able to walk again, and was so grateful, I just wanted to do what they did!

Since becoming a Physiotherapist in 2009, graduating from Keele University, I have learnt so much more about the extra things that could have been addressed in my recovery, my rehabilitation from surgery, and what I need to be doing to help myself everyday. It’s not just about the 6-12 months following surgery, its about learning and understanding your own body and being the best you can be to live the life you want – ALWAYS.

I have had the privilege of speaking to many of you out there through social media and the podcast, and all of your stories are inspiring in so many ways.

I hope I can provide you with some support, whether it’s a listen to the podcast, getting involved in our classes and community on patreon, through 1:1 online appointments, or through the other information and resources here.

If there’s something you’re looking for and I don’t have it covered, please let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

Best wishes
